Association of BC Forest Professionals
The Association of BC Forest Professionals is responsible for registering and regulating British Columbia's professional foresters and forest technologists.
BC Forest Safety Council
A not-for-profit society dedicated to promoting forest safety in the sector. It includes B.C.'s major forestry organizations and is fully supported by WorkSafeBC and the Province of British Columbia. Its mandate is to work within the forest industry to eliminate fatalities and injuries. The BC Forest Safety Council is also a certifying partner in our certificate of recognition (COR) program.
Council of Forest Industries
A trade association incorporated in 1960, COFI is the provincial voice of the B.C.'s forest industry. It represents more than 100 forest companies and six forest industry trade associations. Member companies operate throughout the province; manage forest resources; manufacture lumber, pulp, paper, plywood, and other value-added forest products; and sell these products locally, nationally, and internationally.
FPInnovations
FPInnovations brings together Forest Operations, Wood Products, Pulp & Paper, and the Canadian Wood Fibre Centre of Natural Resources Canada in the world's largest private, not-for-profit forest research institute.
Interior Logging Association
The association works with the BC Forest Safety Council to ensure our members are operating to the highest standards of safety.
Ministry of Forests, Lands and Natural Resource Operations
The mandate of the Ministry of Forests, Lands and Natural Resource Operations is broad, overseeing a total land base and freshwater area that covers 94.8 million hectares.
Safety Advisory Foundation for Education and Research (SAFER)
SAFER Council's mission is to assist workers and employers in the B.C. forest industry to create a healthy environment, both on and off the job. To reach this safety goal, SAFER has taken a leadership role in the development of safety training sessions for workers.
Truck Loggers Association
This association is made up of independent logging contractors, phase contractors, small tenure holders, woodlots, market loggers, log brokers, independent sawmills, remanufacturing mills and heavy equipment, fuel, camp, and other suppliers in the coastal B.C. region.
Western Forestry Contractors' Association (WFCA)
The association's membership is made up of the silviculture contracting community in Western Canada. Members perform the bulk of silviculture work in B.C. and Alberta.
Wildlife Tree Committee of British Columbia (WTC)
The WTC is a multi-agency committee made up of representatives from the provincial ministries of Forests and Water, Land and Air Protection, as well as WorkSafeBC, industry and labour, and public interest groups from across the province.
Workplace Safety North
WSN provides occupational health and safety resources, training, and consulting to companies involved in forestry, mining, smelting, refining, paper, printing, and converting.
